descripton, p.137: Leaves broadly elliptic, apex shortly acuminate, venation impressed,
margins crenate, 8.6-8.9 cm long x 4.4 cm wide, petioles 8 mm long, manifestly hairy.
Flowers single, red (Crimson 22-22/1), widely cup-shaped or horizontally opened, petals 5-7,
largest 5.6 cm long x 4.4 cm wide, flat, narrowly incised. Stamens cylindrical, filaments pale
yellow. Blooms late. Originated in the wild at Kitta, Arakawa-machi, Niigata Prefecture,
Japan.
FOGLIA: medio grande, tondeggiante, convessa, dentata. Fioritura in medio mperiodo.
