Berlèse, 1841, Iconographie, vol.1, pl.78 and facing p.: The flower is 8-9 cm across, full,

carmine red with touches of crimson. The exterior petals, a single row, are of average size,

deeply scalloped, regularly cup-shaped, a little twisted; those of the centre are innumerable,

uniformly ovoid, small, erect, forming an hemisphere and separate from the outer petals.

Originated by Mr. Harrison, New York, USA, about 1837. Chinese synonym ‘Lubina’.
